

Romanian Institute of Bioeconomy is a Romanian non-governmental, non -profit association founded in 2016. The initiative was born from a group of Romanians who have proposed to contribute to the continuation of research activities and implementing the vision of Romanian origin scientist Nicholas Georgescu –Roegen, personality in the early 70s has promoted the concept of bioeconomy. The main purpose of the Association is to promote the concept of bio-economy, to inform the public on the importance of the bioeconomy in the romanian and international society, to investigate and contribute to the development of bio-economy.
The experience of the people involved in the activity and the Romanian Institute of Bio-economic projects was obtained following the close and continuing collaboration with the Romanian Academy members, especially Prof. Dr. Hc. Alexandru BOGDAN in scientific research on the implementation of the bio-economy concept in Romania, as well as active participation in symposia, workshops and the development of scientific research.
Our experience we want to use in future projects in which we will contribute through the Romanian Institute of Bioeconomy.
Our objectives:
- study the factors to achieve and maintain consensus, social cohesion and increase quality of life
- involvement in the development of new technologies and processes for the bioeconomy
- developing markets and competitiveness in bioeconomy sectors
- ensuring close cooperation between policy makers, NGOs, academia and civil society environment in developing and marketing bio-economy, environmental protection and renewable resources
- involvement in developing new markets, for example in biofuels, food products and biological products, health and food safety
- involvement in implementation of projects for the sustainable development of biocommunities in the context of the major societal challenges
- involvement in ensuring land and sea ecostability, biological and renewable to obtain raw materials, that can be used as food and feed as well as industrial production and energy
- support and involvement in projects to guarantee food safety
- promoting and supporting the sustainable of environmentally clean technologies, renewable natural resources based on biotechnology and nonmaterial exosystemic services and efficient recycling
- upgrading bioeconomy knowledge base and development of education and scientific research
- involvement in promoting and conducting ecological processes for sustainable sectors
Romanian Institute of Bioeconomy seeks partners to design, filing, development and implementation of projects that have at the base the concept of bioeconomy development of the European economy.
